Simultaneous video outputs

Each PTZOptics camera is capable of sending three simultaneous video streams through HDMI, HD-SDI, USB 3.0, and IP streaming, depending on the model you are using. The resolution of these video outputs is adjusted using the rotating disc on the back of each camera. You will notice every PTZOptics camera also has an analog CVBS port. This port is not simultaneous with the others. If you want to use this port you must set the resolution to 480i or 576i and the other digital ports have to be disabled.

Camera control options

Each PTZOptics camera can be controlled via IP (over the network), RS -232 (via VISCA), ONVIF (over the network), or UVC (via a USB cable) for USB models. IP control is fast becoming a preferred standard for ease of use. Once connected to the network, each camera will establish a static IP address and you will be able to enter the camera to adjust the settings and operation of the PTZ controls.

About IP Streaming

Each PTZOptics camera includes the ability to do IP Streaming with video and audio. To use these capabilities the camera must be connected to the network. Once connected to your network, you can connect to the camera through the IP Address. The username and password are “admin” and “admin”. Once you have connected to the camera via the GUI interface, you can navigate to the “Video” tab to add your RTSP or RTMP streaming credentials. We have options to embed audio that will come through the camera’s 3.5mm audio input.

Using the remote control

Each PTZOptics camera includes an Infra network remote control that can be used for PTZ and camera setup. You will find that each remote control can operate up to 4 cameras. There is a switch on the back of each camera that can be used to establish a connection to the remote control for situations when you need control of multiple cameras at once. There is an on-screen menu that you can use to adjust camera settings. Configuration and activating a preset can be done by pressing the setting button and touching the number you want to assign to the preset. To activate the preset, just press the button for the number you have assigned.

Connectivity limitations

PTZOptics cameras offer various video outputs including: HD-SDI, HDMI, USB 3.0, IP Streaming and CVBS. Each video cable has its own distance limitations that must be considered. HD-SDI cables are preferred for long distances up to 300 meters. Network cables for IP transmission can reach up to 100 meters. HDMI cables can reach distances of up to 15 meters without the need for extensions and CVBS reaches from 10 to 100 meters depending on the quality of the cable.

Warranty limitations

Each PTZOptics camera comes with a 3-year manufacturing warranty. This warranty covers any and all manufacturing defects within the first 3 years. This warranty does not cover end-user damage or corruption through modifications of the SDK.
