Gen Z focused campaign marks first music video for the brand, requiring scroll stopping images.
Fremont, CA, USA - Blackmagic Design today announced that Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF digital film camera captured Sunsilk Cambodia’s first ever music video style commercial. Conceived by advertising agency Havas Cambodia for its client Unilever Cambodia, the shampoo campaign marks a major shift in advertising with a format that’s not typical for beauty brands in Cambodia.
“Sunsilk gave us space to push creative boundaries and experiment with a trend forward, Gen Z music video,” noted Christian Tadle, Senior Account Director, Havas Cambodia. “It had to feel authentic, stylish, and full of personality, like something you'd stream and share. Sunsilk consumers are evolving, and we positioned Sunsilk as more than just a beauty product; it’s a confidant and a cheerleader, growing alongside its customers.”
As a celebration of confidence, the “Team Black and Pink” music video features Cambodian pop stars Mina and SK performing upbeat dance sequences across rooftops, playgrounds, and an indoor setup. Meant to inspire young women, the empowering message is wrapped in a catchy, vibrant music video, with the URSA Cine 12K LF’s image quality, color science, dynamic range, and large format sensor key to achieving the desired aesthetic.

“Hair was a core visual motif, so we paid special attention to how it moved and caught the light with hair flips, turns, and fluid dance movements to create a natural swish and shine effect. Slow motion shots were incorporated to hero those moments and give the hair more visual drama,” said Tadle.
“We employed a mix of wide angle and prime lenses and zoomed in and out to inject more rhythm and motion, matching the groovy, upbeat tone of a Gen Z targeted music video,” he added. “Lighting wise, we combined soft, diffused key lighting indoors with colorful accents, while outdoors we made use of natural sunlight enhanced by reflectors and backlights to highlight the natural shine of the hair.”
“When shooting varying lighting conditions, the URSA Cine 12K’s dynamic range ensured both highlights and shadows were preserved. For example, we could expose properly for the artists’ skin tones while still retaining detail in a blown out window behind them,” noted the music video’s director David Tito. “The camera’s color science and dynamic range provide a filmic look and HDR capability.”
Tito also commented on the URSA Cine 12K LF’s frame rate and resolution options for adaptable shooting styles and effects.

“Often, fashion shoots like this might need both 12K beauty shots and 8K slow motion shots. The URSA Cine 12K allows you to shoot up to 224fps in 8K, which is ideal for capturing slow motion fabric and hair movement, and then switch to 12K for ultra detailed still like footage,” he said. “Even if the final delivery is 4K or HD, filming in 12K allows for cleaner, sharper downsampled footage. A music video shot in 12K and downsampled to 4K will exhibit better aliasing control and color detail, especially on skin textures and hair.”
The campaign was graded with DaVinci Resolve Studio, and the team leaned toward warm, saturated colors to enhance positivity, playfulness, and youthful energy, ensuring every frame felt alive and visually cohesive. Particular attention was given to skin tones and hair highlights to ensure they were elevated but retained a natural look, while the background colors and lighting contrasts were pushed to make every frame feel dynamic and on trend.
“We aimed for a warm, punchy palette that felt fun, fresh, and empowering. We wanted the colors to pop, especially the pinks and purples that aligned with Sunsilk’s identity,” said Tadle. “The grade helped to unify the overall energy of the video and gave it that polished, ‘scroll stopping’ music video feel.”
“As Sunsilk’s first music video in Cambodia, we had incredible creative freedom,” concluded Tadle. “David is renowned as a rebellious commercial director who doesn’t chase trends and whose work rewrites the rules. We knew that he would create that disruptive feel that we needed as we wanted to change the game with this project. It was a joy to work with such a passionate team and to see our vision come to life with Blackmagic’s high quality cinematic equipment that delivers stunning images to best reflect our client’s brand.”
